Your pet's name:: Cody |
Cody was our daughter's little dog he was so energetic and loveable he was always a joy to have around he became sick on 3-9-07 and died on 3-11-07 on Monday I noticed him acting strange he could not get around very good then on Tuesday March 11 my wife called me at work and told me he could not get up and that he showed no reaction to her when I got home he could not do anything I held his head and gave him water and he drank a small amount he died a few minutes later I thought I could never feel so much sadness as I did for our little dog. My wife called our daughter in Virgina the next day and told her about Cody a few days later our daughter emailed us about the pet food recall I checked the food that I had and it was all on the recall list |

Your pet's name:: Zane |
Zane you are the love of my life RIP!
» click to enlarge « Me and my ex Husband Chris were the most overprotective parents to our beautiful Black Lab. We fed him the best food, so we thought. "Dick Van Patten" But little did we know, we were slowly poisoning him. He stopped eating, was peeing out of control, and drank constantly. When he arrived at the Hospital he started having seizure after seizure, and his kidneys gave up. He died on january 24th, and we are still suffering and the pain will not go away. We both loved him sooooo much. I still cry on a daily basis. How can something that was supposed to keep him alive and healthy, kill him at the end, when we were so careful.
We will always love you Zane. You were our pride and joy!!! WE MISS YOU SO MUCH!!! |

Your pet's name:: Maya |
Maya and Gizmo at Christmas I had been putting off reading this memorial page until I was stronger. Thought I was until now. Crying again, but I'm alot better than I was. I lost a beloved cat (child) on February 24th due to the recalled food and almost lost my precious chihuahua (her little boyfriend) as well. He's doing a bit better now. He adored Maya.
I made the mistake of purchasing some Iams and Science Diet cans as well for my cat as a treat. I wish now I'd never seen that sale. I thought I was doing good buying her something special when the fact is, it killed her. She was almost 15 and in good health. She went down suddenly over a period of less than 24 hours. I took her to the vet the following morning and had to euthanize her. I stayed with her and that was the hardest thing I've ever done in my entire life. Right before we entered the room, she managed to get enough energy to reach her paw and mouth to my face and gently pet and kiss my cheek. It was as if she was telling me it was okay to let her go. I cry as I type this.. Rest in peace "My Maya". I will always love you and so will Gizmo..
Thank you Audet and Partners for what you're doing to try to make the pet food industry safer for our beloved animals. |

Your pet's name:: Twinkletoes |
Twink was only 5 1/2 years old and so healthy and active. i'd had my 'little man' since birth. he was my shadow and my body guard. i spent over $700 trying to keep him alive, but lost him anyway. i'll never forget my baby and never forgive alpo. i thought MY kids were safe since all they've ever eaten was alpo and pedigree. i noticed that pedigree is still on the the grocery shelves. |

Your pet's name:: Lady |
Lady our 2 year old jack russel terrier mix died on the operating table on April 4, 2007. She had been at the vet for a week in intensive care. Her kidney enzymes where way too high, she had no appetite and was vomiting. The vet office called me with the terrible news. I went and picked her up to give her a proper burial. We cried and said our prayers for her. That was a very sad day at the house. |

Your pet's name:: Maddie |
Our pretty princess, 11 year old Maddie(Chocolate Lab)died on 4/6/07. She was the sweetest, calmest dog I've ever known. She made us a family when even we weren't sure we could be!! After eating Alpo prime cuts lamb and rice she became ill. I thought we were okay, because her food wasn't part of the Menu recall. But then, Alpo recalled. Poor Maddie stopped eating, was so tired, her kidney function was so low and then she started having seizures which led to nuerological damage. We had to put her to sleep. It all happened so quickly...we just never thought it would happen to her. :( |

Tigger
» click to enlarge « Tigger passed away in Feb. 2007 His kidneys started to form crystals just days after having a treat of can food (Iams). When he was not responding to the treat meant to break up the crystals than other organs started to fail so in the end we had to put him down so he would no longer be in pain. We would still like to know why this had to happen. |

» click to enlarge « Tigger we will always miss you & remember you. You were a wonderful cat & we will miss you. It was not fair that we had to lose you at such a young age you were only 4. You were in so much pain before you died. I thought I was giving you a treat not a death sentence. You may have been a big fur ball. You were a show cat for all of us. JJS |
